Clay Shooting, Lunch & Butchery Demonstration

Join us for a unique hands-on experience at the renowned Holland & Holland Shooting Ground, where you’ll get the chance to sharpen your shooting skills and learn how to prepare and cook fresh game.

Under the expert guidance of Bod Griffiths, founder of Vale House Kitchen and a passionate game enthusiast, you'll discover the quick and easy method of butchering pheasant without the need for plucking and drawing.
Bod will demonstrate how to expertly remove the meat from the bird, and you’ll have the opportunity to try it yourself with his support.

Once the butchery is complete, Bod will guide you through the process of creating a simple yet mouthwatering dish using the game, which the group will savor together at the end of the session.

This exciting day also includes a shooting experience at Holland & Holland’s premier shooting ground, where you’ll enjoy the thrill of honing your shooting technique. A delicious light lunch is provided, making it the perfect combination of culinary skills and outdoor adventure.

Itinerary for the day:

Morning shoot, two hours followed by lunch & Butchery demonstration:

9.45: Arrive at Holland & Holland Shooting Grounds, for breakfast rolls and hot beverages.

Division into teams, safety briefing and outline of the morning's activities and an introduction to your Holland and Holland instructors.

10.15: Shooting commences with instruction & practice on a variety of sporting stands.

12.15: Shooting ends.

12.15: Light Lunch

13.30 Butchery demonstration with Vale House Kitchen.

15.30 Butchery demonstration ends.
